About Sync
Sync is a family schedule and routine-management app that enables parents to manage both their routines and their children's routines. It can also be used by friend groups to help organize gatherings and events.
Problem and solution
People have busy lives and a hard time remembering their tasks and deadlines, not only that but they have to keep in mind the tasks and deadlines of other people too, especially in a family. Parents need to remember to take their kids to school, help them with projects and go to their events. Friends also struggle to find time to spend together and see each other.
The solution is simple, within Sync a person can organise their own daily routine, calendar of events and to-do list in one place and have group activities highlighted and notified in all of these mentioned features by simply adding their family members to a new task, event or to-do.

Empathize and define
The first step of the research was via secondary sources, readings about other task focused apps, family routine and schedule organizing methods. These readings were followed by primary research as online interviews were conducted to gather information about the possible users, their frustrations and good experiences with schedule and routine keeping.
From these interviews empathy maps, user personas, user stories, problem statements and hypotheses statements were made to better understand the necessities that would be covered by Sync.
Much was learned with this research, but I’m gonna summarise it in a few main takeaways:

Sync would need to be beginner friendly! The main frustration many people encounter with routine and schedule apps is a confusing interface.

Sync would need to organise the family group routine and the person’s individual routine by highlighting group events tasks or to do’s and having individual events tasks or to do’s
​
Sync would need to have notifications.
The brand
The Sync brand was created with playfulness and comfort in mind, it's meant to be welcoming for all ages, children and adults alike, and the differences in contrast in between the colors can create a dynamic platform even for people with impaired vision or color blindness.
